Finance Council
Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion? Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him and say, “This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.” (Luke 14:28-30)
In the Code of Canon Law, it is required that each parish constitute “a finance council which is governed, in addition to universal law, by norms issued by the diocesan bishop and in which the Christian faithful, selected according to these same norms, are to assist the pastor in the administration of the goods of the parish…” (Can. 537). The members of the Council, drawn from both financial and non-financial professional backgrounds, advise the Pastor on the stewardship of the financial and temporal resources in order to advance the mission of the parish and the broader Church. They assist in the creation of the yearly budget, which runs from July 1—June 30 each fiscal year, and serve terms of three years.

Pastor's Discernment Teams
Give your servant, therefore, a listening heart to judge your people and to distinguish between good and evil. For who is able to give judgment for this vast people of yours? (1 Kings 3:9)
In the shaping of the parish mission and vision, Father Zlock seeks ongoing input from these groups of parishioners who utilize prayer and discernment in reading the “signs of the times”. They assist Father in responding to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and offer feedback in both formalized settings, such as surveys, and informal conversations and dialogue.

Medical Advisory Team
For I will restore your health; I will heal your injuries… (Jeremiah 30:17)
As a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in March 2020, Father Zlock established a team with expertise in the medical, business, and communications fields. Their purpose is to advise him on the best practices for the celebration of liturgy and the various activities taking place during this extraordinary time in the life of the parish. In response to the latest news, recommendations, and mandates put forth by government, CDC, medical experts, and Archdiocesan officials, this team serves as a consultative body on how to best implement all protocols to ensure the safety and protection of parishioners and visitors.

Outreach Foundation Discernment Team
You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God, for the administration of this public service is not only supplying the needs of the holy ones but is also overflowing in many acts of thanksgiving to God. (2 Corinthians 9:11-12)
Father Zlock established this team to serve several purposes in terms of ministry through outreach. A primary role is to advise him on the distribution of significant financial resources to assist those in need both in Berwyn/Devon and beyond. In addition, they assist in assuring proper support for the Outreach ministry and its partners.

Pastor's Leadership Team
With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand. (Psalms 78:72)
This team advises Father Zlock on the needs of the parish as a whole, offering varied perspectives, recommendations, and feedback as needed so that he might fulfill his role as shepherd of the flock entrusted to his care. They incorporate best practices and recommendations of various organizations such as the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, The Amazing Parish, The Table Group, and The Catholic Leadership Institute. The members assist in furthering the mission and vision of the parish by providing support to Father Zlock and his pastoral team, doing so in a spirit of collaboration, authenticity, and, most importantly, prayer.
