Join us for Taizé Prayer for Holy Week on Palm Sunday, 25 March at 3 pm in the Church. This service of silence, music and scripture is a prayerful and reflective way to begin your Holy Week. The service is generously sponsored by Selma Koury Wunderlich in Memory of her husband Joseph H. Wunderlich. Founded in 1940 in a small village in eastern France, Taizé is an ecumenical monastic community whose prayer, three times each day, is at the center of their life. Today, Taizé is a place to which visitors of all ages and backgrounds come on pilgrimage, to participate in international meetings of prayer and reflection.
There is no right or wrong way to participate in this service. Feel free to sit, stand or kneel wherever you are most comfortable. During the sung portions of this service, you are invited to sing the melody, harmonize, hum or simply listen. The cross is a focal point to be adored and used in our prayer as we begin this holy and solemn week. There is a period of silence for prayer and quiet reflection between each musical offering. Invite neighbors and friends — all are welcome!
