From the Pastor

Dear Friends,

The prophet Isaiah reminds us that God has called us. So many times in the Bible and in history, people have been called to be prophet, messenger or leader and they have tried to ignore that call, or run away from the call. We always think “God isn’t calling me” or we respond “I’m too busy,” or “I can’t do that! Get someone else!” God has chosen us, you and me, because of who we are. He will give us the words, or the time, or even the energy. All He expects is our “Yes!”

This weekend I have asked members of the Pastoral Council to speak at the Masses with me. These council members have been working hard and long. These men and women stepped forward and responded to God’s call to serve the Church of Saint Monica’s last Holy Week. They have been working with me in making the work of the Task Force go from dream to reality. They will be giving an update on the Work of becoming One — Enthusiastic Disciples of Jesus Christ who bring God’s love to all.

In the early church we read of Jesus calling the Twelve, and then others being called into ministry with the Twelve. It is time for you to step up and Get Involved. We need You. Listen and pray. Then say, “Here I am Lord!”

Again, please get involved with the Parish. You are Church! Church needs You!

God’s peace,

Father Trader
